The term psychic has been used to describe anything having to do with the ability to perceive information hidden from the normal senses.

When consulting with a professional in the intuitive arts, you want to know what specialties they have. Don’t be shy about asking what their specialties are or how long they have been in practice to make sure you have the correct professional for the job. Fees should be commensurate with experience in the business. Visit their website and read the testimonials from previous clients. It is important to trust your feelings about any professional and if it doesn’t feel right, it’s not. The experience should always feel good and the information provided will be ethical and kind.

Do ask a Medium beforehand if they are a demonstrative Medium where only yes and no is asked or if questions are allowed for clarity at your reading.

Let me offer a brief description of Mediumship. Mediums work with those who have made their journey to the other side or are in transition, coma or even during surgery. A Medium works one-on-one and is in a light trance during the session, usually completely unknown to the sitter as they make their soul-to-soul link between you and the Medium to your loved ones. The Medium is the go-between from this realm to the other as a Spiritual Journalist ™ to bring back messages from the other side. A successful reading will provide you with true validation, markers (for future validation), new information and comfort. Reading may also include animals that have gone over the rainbow bridge. It is import to allow yourself to grieve somewhat before a reading with your Medium of choice.

All Mediums are Psychic. However, all Psychics are not Mediums. If a Psychic is offering information from the other side, they are a Medium. Psychics are sometime comfortable offering their readings with others present at your sitting.

There are several different ways Initiative’s/Psychics work, here are a few:

Clairvoyance is the ability to see clearly in a non-ordinary way, such as seeing a situation they have no knowledge of. Medical Intuitive sees disease and imbalance areas in the body.
Clairsentience is the ability to feel energy or the vibratory signature of another. This could include, but is not limited to, environment, animals, thoughts, or plants.
Psychometry is ability to gather information about an event associated with an object solely by touching the object or seeing a photo.
Clairaudience is the ability to hear in a non-ordinary way as in the case of mediumship hearing your loved ones or psychically by hearing outside your normal sensing in this realm.
Clairalience is the ability to smell in a non-ordinary way by not using the physical senses.
Clairognizance is the most difficult for my students in psychic development classes to understand. This is the ability to just know things without previous knowledge and without explanation.
Clairgustance is the ability to taste in non-ordinary ways without putting any substance into the psychic mouth but be able to perceive the essence of it.

Intuitives may sometimes use visual tools to assist in the reading such as Tarot cards, crystals and stones or as a palm reader, your hands.
